Bristol Water
Bristol Water was concerned to improve the energy efficiency of its pumping equipment at its Purton pumping station. The original pumping equipment had been installed in 1963 and tests showed that it had fallen below a good standard of efficiency. A review of the site recommended new pumping plant that would be more suited to the duty we now have. This would see the pumps reduced in number from five to three and making them all the same size.

Devon Cliffs
Bourne Leisure run several holiday parks around the UK all with swimming pool and leisure facillities, they were looking at trying to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions.
Bourne Leisure approached APDS to help them save money on energy by examining and reporting on the control philosophy for their pools. It is well understood that slowing a motor via an inverter on a variable torque application leads to savings on energy. Using their extensive knowledge of pool filtration systems and understanding the periods of heavy usage APDS identified areas where savings could be achieved.
