The Problem
Keeping pressure consistant and seaving energy in a high tech spray booth with staff and product passing through on a continuous basis. The solution needed to be efficient and practical. The spray heads had paint pumped to them as required which wasted energy when no paint was called for.
The Solution
ABB inverters on the supply and exhaust fan monitor the pressure and using PID controllers tehy maintain a fixed air pressure according to atmospheric and site conditions. The spray pumps ramp up to speed when a paint is called for, saving energy without allowing the prodution to suffer delays. A strategic spares holding and maintenance plan has been implemented to ensure technical dsupport and spares are always avaialable and a site specific spare wheelie drive has been supplied for quick response if required. A site wide motor management policy was introduced to reduce costs having uneconomical motors repaired.
