Successful Process Improvement Day

We have received excellent feedback from our Process Improvement Day which was held at the ABB Training University in Bristol last week.

Visitors to the event were able to hear first hand how ABB’s drive and motor systems could not only reduce energy consumption, but also improve process performance.

The event was hosted by ABB and key members of their technical team presented to the audience.

One of the seminar topics of particular interest was a discussion on   drive servicing and preventative maintenance. Alan Jones from APDS explains,

“Many of our ABB inverter drive users don’t understand the importance of taking care of your drives. You wouldn’t invest in a new car and expect it to run year after year without some sort of regular maintenance and the same applies to inverter drives.

We were able to explain to delegates how important it was to take the time to regularly check drives and how ABB make it easy for them. For each of their drive models, ABB has produced a life cycle management programme which explains what needs doing and when over a 3, 6 and 9 year period”

Other seminars included an overview of the IE3 motor regulations and an introduction to Syn RM technology.

Visitors to the event were able to take a close look at the ACS880, ABB latest inverter drive innovation.
