APDS recently supported a planned shutdown at Holcim UK, completing a major rotor change on a Brown Lennox hammer mill crusher – safely, efficiently, and right on schedule.
Thanks to strong planning and collaboration between departments, the job started on time and, with support from the night shift, was completed in full readiness for production to resume first thing Monday morning. The shutdown was also used as a valuable opportunity to prepare and install additional components, including new C plates, a fully rebuilt neck with new wear plates, plus a new set of shafts and swing hammers, reducing future downtime risk.
APDS engineers carried out full alignment works to ensure optimal running conditions, performance, and asset longevity. A particular shout-out goes to Jamie Sims for support in clocking the new rotor in , which is a critical step in achieving precision results.
This project is a great example of what can be achieved through teamwork, clear communication, and proactive maintenance planning. Proud of Nigel Prior and the APDS team and grateful to the Holcim maintenance crew for the collaboration.
